Mario helps Promotes Literacy in America

Yesterday, celebrities and prominent figures from coast to coast helped create the World’s largest shared reading experience in one day by reading one book, Don Freeman’s classic, CORDUROY, to aid the literacy crisis in the U.S. on Jumpstart’s Read for the Record Day with thousands of reading events happening simultaneously across the country.

New York kicked off the event on the TODAY Show with spokespersons LL Cool J and Matt Lauer, Jesse McCartney, Greg Kinnear, Maria from Sesame Street and Mary-Louise Parker. Other events included Singer/Songwriter/Actress JoJo in Boston; Gabrielle Union in Los Angeles; and R&B Star Mario in Washington D.C. Notable politicians, educators and community leaders were also on hand to support the early literacy crisis in young children. Great Cause!

Just wanted to let you guys know what I've been up to for the past couple of months. I'm in the process of remodeling this whole site. I'm gonna give you guys new blogs, pics, videos, events, news, announcements and everything else..........

I ave to say I've done some real fun things this year but working on my new album has been the highlight!

I've been in the studio with Rodney Jerkins, Babyface, Polow da don, Red One, CJ of Charlio Productions, Malay, Jazzy Pha.... Just to name a few!

This is a very conceptual album.
It's time for my fans to know me through my music!!! Can't wait for you to hear the records! Don't expect anything you've heard before!

Every song I record I envision what I want it to look like on film, so check back for some video notes too!

Mario at McDonald's Family Tribute on Ice

Mario is set to perform on this groundbreaking new show that pairs musical stars with world champion figure skaters from the US and Canada. Benefiting McDonald's world children's day and hosted by Kristi Yamaguchi, Mario naturally wanted to be part of this great night.

The event airs November 16th on NBC.

Mario's in San Diego tonight performing his hit "Let Me Love You" at ABC's Frosted Pink With a Twist Concert. Mario will be performing while Olympic Gymnast Alicia Sacramone will be performing on the beam.

Hosted by Sharon Osbourne and benefiting Breast Cancer Research the night will be filled with Gynnmastics and star studded performances by Carole King, Natasha Bedingfield, Jesse McCartney, Kenny Loggins and more!

The event airs October 12th on ABC.

Last night Mario performed "My Place Hotel" at the annual BMI awards in Los Angeles. This year's show was a tribute to the legendary Jacksons, whom Mario counts as one of his major musical influences.
